Today our task is to based on our research topic, create a suitable search strategy and use the following search enigne to find relevant information.
# Google (
http://www.google.com/)
# Google Scholar (
http://scholar.google.com/)
I found some quite interesting information/resources by using google to search and I'm quite impressed by the variation of these information.
Basically
google.com providing easy access to billions of web pages and has many special features to help you to find exactly what you're looking for or similar/relevant resources. On other hand,
scholar.google.com provides you information from articles, books, etc.
Overall, I think
google.com is more effective helping me find resources related to my research topic.
Firstly, the related results the 2 search engine found out:
google.com:
Results 1 - 10 of about 95,800
(role) AND (design) AND (go-green OR eco-friendly OR environmental-friendly) AND (gobal OR worldwide) AND (movements). (0.43 seconds)scholar.google.com:
Results 1 - 10 of about 2,030 for
(role) AND (design) AND (go-green OR eco-friendly OR environmental-friendly) AND (gobal OR worldwide) AND (movements). (0.26 seconds)google.com provides more sources as the results is from various website whereas
scholar.google.com only focus on articles and books. In this way, using
scholar.google.com seems able to find more reliable sources. However,
google.com provide more varity of resources, and hence more information relating to my research topic.

I feel it's important not to be biased with your posts or others and I think it's quite helpful for my research by participate in discussion forums in a way as I can get to know others' opinions and gain more knowlege. But because it's a discussion forum, some of the posts can be biased and not reliable since anyone can post their opinions. There might not be much useful informaion as some comments might be just personal opinions.
I feel discussion forums plays a quite important role as it allows people all over the world to discuss certain issues together.
I do feel a bit anxious about talking to others I do not know. I was worry about how others think of my comments, whether they do agree or disagree and what they will response my posts. But I still think it going to be helpful for my research by getting various comments from different people. Different people have different point of view, so I will be able to understand my topic better through varied opinions/feedback.

I work in an IT company where our PC's are online 24 hrs a day.We follow a strict rule of switching of the monitors when not in use. Use of Lifts only when extremely required is one of the small contribution from my side to prevent wastage of electricity. Let's discuss on how each one of us is contributing to save the mother nature.<-my response#Posting a new discussion topic/question:~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>~>After all the research, it's important to do citation and bibliography
Sources should be cited when adding material that is challenged or likely to be challenged, when quoting someone, when adding material to the biography of a living person, when checking content added by others, and when uploading an image.
Citation allows a reader to find the source and verify that it supports material.
(From Wikipedia)By doing citation and bibliography, it's actually like doing a summary for your research: what you have found out and what other relevant informations for your research.
It also helps others to read for reference and will also be convenient for self checking.
